Axeda Showcases Integrated Remote Service Management Solution at Oracle OpenWorld 2008

Combined Solution Delivers Proactive Service Capabilities to Manufacturers

Foxboro, Mass.  (September 22, 2008) - Axeda will debut its integrated solution for remote service management at Oracle OpenWorld this week.  Service teams that rely on Oracle are now able to take advantage of Axeda's proven remote service software to help drive increases in operational efficiency.  Axeda is a member of the Oracle  PartnerNetwork.

The Axeda® ServiceLink solution enhances Oracle Service to deliver real-time monitoring, management, and data collection from connected equipment. With this combined functionality, manufacturers can troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct product issues remotely, and more cost-effectively than ever before.

"The Axeda/Oracle integration will enable us to better serve our customers by providing real-time product information throughout the service process," said David Rudzinsky, CIO, Hologic. "Our support team will be able to access all necessary customer data in one place instead of across multiple applications, allowing us to increase device uptime, shorten our time-to-repair, and automate compliance tasks."

With the combined solution, device notifications automatically trigger service requests through Oracle Service, proactively notifying service technicians when problems arise, many times before the customer sees the issue.

According to Gartner, "The third generation of remote monitoring and support automation focuses on proactive fault detection and notification. It is driving profitability through analytics, strategic advice, product life cycle management, and quantifiable (action-oriented) marketing data."

Additionally, service technicians can directly access a customer's device from within a Service Request to remotely troubleshoot, diagnose and repair issues - enabling manufacturers and third-party service providers to rapidly respond and resolve incidents. It also provides a complete audit trail of all activities performed on each system.

"By integrating remote service technology into service operations, customers can automate manual tasks like configuration management and auditing," said Brian Anderson, vice president of marketing, Axeda. "As manufacturers look for ways to reduce costs and increase service levels, this type of automation is critical."
