Companies Recognized for VCare Connect Remote Service Solution
FOXBORO, Mass. and CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa. - June 21, 2007 - Axeda, the secure remote service and support company, and its customer VIASYS Healthcare, have won a 2007 M2M Value Chain Award for VIASYS VCare™ Connect, an advanced remote service solution enabled by Axeda® ServiceLink. The award, sponsored by M2M Magazine, recognizes the most successful corporate adopters of machine-to-machine technologies and the solution providers that made their success possible. It was presented last night at the conclusion of the M2M United Conference.
VIASYS, a global manufacturer of respiratory care, clinical diagnostics and medical products, has deployed VCare Connect across three divisions of the company and on more than 15 different product lines to ensure their systems operate at full capacity, on a continuous basis. Adopted by hundreds of hospitals, VCare Connect enables VIASYS service technicians to securely and remotely monitor product performance in the field and correct potential issues early, allowing them to meet the highest standards of uptime.
"In healthcare environments, every second counts," said Tom Chowaniec, senior vice president of customer care for VIASYS. "Because of VCare Connect, we spend less time troubleshooting product issues, which creates faster response times and less need for patient rescheduling. This gives our customers more time to focus on delivering the best possible care."
With VCare Connect, VIASYS became the first company to use an advanced remote service application on neurocare, sleep diagnostic and pulmonary function systems in the United States. They were also the only healthcare company to win a 2007 M2M Value Chain Award.
"We selected VIASYS and Axeda for this year's awards because they have achieved such tangible business benefits with the VCare Connect solution," said Peggy Smedley, editorial director/president, Specialty Publishing Company / M2M Magazine. "It is a truly innovative service offering that delivers the ultimate customer value."
