Axeda Launches New Global Access Hosted Service

Global Server Network Optimizes Performance for Remote Access Sessions, Linking Service Technicians to Customer Sites Worldwide

FOXBORO, Mass. - May 9, 2007 - Axeda Corporation, the secure remote service and support company, today announced the availability of the Axeda® Global Access Hosted Service .  This new offering enables companies with widely dispersed global customers and limited IT resources to improve remote access performance by tapping a network of Axeda Global Access Servers in locations near their customers.

Although the Internet connects devices around the world, the greater the distance between a service technician and a device, the slower the connection can become. 
Using a network of Axeda Global Access Servers hosted in key locations around the world, devices are automatically directed to the nearest server to optimize performance. This means that users starting a remote access session in Europe, for example, are intelligently directed to a server in Europe instead of communicating with a server in North America.  As a result, support teams are able to work "locally" and diagnose and resolve product issues even faster-with up to 10x performance improvements versus competing technologies.
