End-to-end solution establishes new model for servicing mobile, isolated, and non-connected assets
Foxboro, Mass. and Minnetonka, Minn. – February 26, 2008 - Axeda Corporation, the secure remote service and support company, and Digi International, the leader in device networking for business, have partnered to provide an end-to-end solution for connecting and remotely servicing intelligent devices where wireline infrastructure is unavailable or cost prohibitive.
With this partnership, Axeda and Digi combine Digi Drop-in Networking components with the Axeda remote service platform to enable manufacturers and service providers to reduce service costs by actively managing mobile and isolated assets.

Digi Drop-in Networking solutions include ZigBee®/802.15.4 wireless mesh gateways, adapters, modules, extenders, and environmental sensors, as well as RF-based serial and Ethernet cable replacement products. These products can be used to connect or network-enable electronic devices and sensors where no wired networking infrastructure exists, where access to an existing network is prohibited, or when laying cable is impractical or cost prohibitive.
