FOXBORO, Mass. (October 24, 2007) - Axeda Corporation, the secure remote service and support company today announced that David Canavan has joined the company as vice president, OEM sales and business development.  In this role, Canavan will be responsible for driving Axeda's strategic alliances and channel sales, ultimately opening new markets for the company's award-winning products.

Canavan comes to Axeda with over fifteen years of experience in leading business development and channel sales initiatives at fast-growing software and information security organizations.  Most recently, he led the business development efforts for AirTight Networks, a leader in wireless intrusion detection, where he created and implemented a successful Partner Program, which was a major contributor to the company's triple revenue growth over 2 years.

Prior to joining AirTight Networks, Canavan held a number of executive-level positions at network security organizations, including Foundstone/McAfee, nCipher, and RSA Security - he began his career with Digital Equipment Corporation.  Canavan holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Boston College.
