Ms. McCarthy comes to Axeda with over 18 years of experience in the software industry and has served as a senior executive in various finance, legal, and business development roles.  Most recently she served as vice president and general counsel of Unica Corporation where she was a key contributor to the company's growth from early stages through its initial public offering in August of 2005.

Prior to joining Unica, Ms. McCarthy provided strategic business advisory services and served in various senior management positions such as vice president of business development, chief financial officer, and general counsel for several application software and Internet companies, including WebHire, Inc., Authoria, Inc., Interlynx Technology Corp., Nequity Corp., Liquid Software, and RealityWave, Inc. She holds a BS in Finance from the University of Delaware, and a JD and LLM in Taxation from Boston University School of Law.  A certified mediator, Ms. McCarthy has served as a conference presenter on various topics related to business development and the law, and as an adjunct professor in the Babson College MBA program.
