Information We Collect from You and How We Use It

At times, we may ask you to provide varying amounts of personal information in order to afford you access to certain information about Axeda's products and services, such as your name, email address and phone number. We may use this information to register you for a developer account, respond to your inquiry, notify you of new products that we believe may be of interest, or to send promotional materials including materials from select third party partners with whom we engage in joint marketing campaigns. Axeda is the sole owner of the information collected on this Web site. We do not share your personal information with third parties other than as outlined in this Privacy Policy.

Security

Axeda is committed to taking reasonable efforts to secure the personal data that you choose to provide us. When you enter sensitive information (such as login credentials), we encrypt the transmission of that information using secure socket layer technology (SSL). To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have implemented appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information that we collect online. Tracking Technologies

Cookies

A cookie is a small text file that is stored on a user’s computer for record-keeping purposes. We use cookies on our site and within our Service. We link the information we store in cookies to user access via our Service, which may be personally identifiable information you submit while using our Service. That information is protected behind our Service interface authentication system, which requires a username and password for access.

We use session ID cookies to make it easier for you to navigate. A session ID cookie expires when you close you browser. If you reject cookies, you may still use our Web site, but you will not be able to use our Service.

The use of cookies by our partners and service providers is covered by our privacy statement.  We do not have access or control over these cookies.

Clear Gifs

We, or our third party advertising partner, employs a software technology called clear gifs (a.k.a. Web Beacons/Web Bugs), that help us better manage content on our site by informing us what content is effective.  Clear gifs are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies, and are used to track the online movements of Web users.  In contrast to cookies, which are stored on a user’s computer hard drive, clear gifs are embedded invisibly on Web pages and are about the size of the period at the end of this sentence. We tie the information gathered by clear gifs to our customers’ personally identifiable information.

We use clear gifs in our HTML-based emails to let us know which emails have been opened by recipients.  This allows us to gauge the effectiveness of certain communications and the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns.

Log Files

We and our third party tracking-utility partner gather certain information automatically and store it in log files on our site and within our Service.  This information includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and clickstream data.

We use this information to analyze trends, to administer the site, to track users’ movements around the site and to gather demographic information about our user base as a whole, as well as Service review and troubleshooting.

Advertising

We partner with a third party ad network to either display advertising on our Web site or to manage our advertising on other sites.  Our ad network partner uses cookies and Web beacons to collect non-personally identifiable information about your activities on this and other Web sites to provide you targeted advertising based upon your interests.  If you wish to not have this information used for the purpose of serving you targeted ads, you may opt-out by clicking here .  Please note this does not opt you out of being served advertising.  You will continue to receive generic ads.

Public Forums

Our Web site offers publicly accessible blogs or community forums. You should be aware that any information you provide in these areas may be read, collected, and used by others who access them. To request removal of your personal information from our blog or community forum, contact us at infosec@axeda.com.  In some cases, we may not be able to remove your personal information, in which case we will let you know if we are unable to do so and why.

Social Media Features and Widgets

Our Web site includes Social Media Features, such as the Facebook Like button and Widgets, such as the Share this button or interactive mini-programs that run on our site. These Widgets may collect your IP address, which page you are visiting on our site, and may set a cookie to enable the Widgets to function properly. Social Media Widgets are either hosted by a third party or hosted directly on our Site. Your interactions with these Widgets are governed by the privacy policy of the company providing it.
