Insurance Benefits

Health Insurance
Provider: Blue Cross Blue Shield
Employees in New England can choose an HMO or a PPO. Employees in the field, outside of New England, are covered by a PPO. Medical plans include comprehensive prescription coverage including a mail-in prescription benefit.

Dental Insurance
Provider: MetLife
Employees have the option of electing comprehensive dental insurance provided through MetLife, which provides a full range of preventative, restorative, and orthodontic dental services. 

Vision Insurance
Provider: Vision Service Providers (VSP)
VSP coverage allows for annual eye exams and prescription eyewear every two years. Vision benefits are automatically bundled with medical benefits but are also available as a stand-alone benefit for those not electing health insurance.

Domestic Partners
Health, dental, and optional life insurance benefits are offered to domestic partners. Subject to insurance carrier limitations, the policy covers both same-sex and opposite-sex domestic partners residing in the United States who maintain a committed relationship and occupy the same residence.

Flexible Spending Accounts - Dependent Care and Health Care
Provider: Principal Financial Group
The Axeda Flexible Spending Account (FSA) plan allows employees to set aside pretax dollars to offset the cost of health care expenses or dependent care expenses.

  • Health Care FSA - Employees can contribute up to $5,000 per year on a pre-tax basis to pay for health care expenses (medical, dental, and vision care), while lowering their taxable income.
  • Dependent Care FSA - Employees can contribute up to $5,000 per year on a pre-tax basis to pay for care expenses of qualified dependents, while lowering their taxable income.

Life Insurance
Provider: MetLife
Axeda provides comprehensive life insurance coverage for its employees to help protect the financial security of the survivors in the event of death.
Basic life insurance, equivalent to a 1.5 times the employee's annual earnings up to a maximum of $350,000, is provided as a 100% company paid benefit.

Voluntary Life Insurance
Provider: MetLife
Axeda employees may purchase additional life insurance amounts up to 5 times their base salary to a maximum of $500,000.

Short-Term Disability Benefit
Provider: MetLife
Axeda provides a short-term disability plan to its employees, which is 100% company paid.

Long-Term Disability Benefit
Provider: MetLife
Axeda provides a long-term disability plan to its employees, which is 100% company paid.

Business Travel Accident Insurance
Provider: AIG
Axeda provides additional life insurance coverage to employees when they are traveling on company business (subject to the terms of the plan for an additional 3 times their base salary).

401(k) Plan
Provider: Sun Life Retirement Services
Axeda offers a 401(k) Savings and Investment Plan with a choice of twenty-nine investment options. Employees may contribute up to 100% of their total pay. We have both pre-tax contribution options and after-tax contribution options. For the year 2008, Axeda matches 25% of the first 6% that an employee contributes to the plan. Employees are vested in the employer match after 2 years of employment.

If you join Axeda with at least seven years of job-related experience as of your date of hire (as determined by the hiring manager and Human Resources), you may be eligible for an additional five vacation days each year for the first two years of your services. From the second to the sixth year, the total accrual rate remains at 15 days per year, regardless of prior work experience.

Additional Benefits

Parental Leave
Employees who have a new child are eligible for five days off with 100% base pay before or after your child is born or adopted.

Employee Referral Program
Axeda has great employees and great people know other great people! Axeda provides a $2,500 referral incentive, which is paid when an employee referral is hired and completes 90 days of employment.

Matching Gift Program
Axeda matches contributions of up to $100 per year from eligible employees to non-profit organizations.

Company Events
Axeda has frequent employee events - at least one per quarter. Past events included: F1 car racing, ice cream sundae parties, billiards events, paint ball, summer party, Halloween and holiday parties for our employee's children, and bowling.

Movie Passes
Axeda offers reduced-price Showcase Cinema movie tickets for purchase.

Corporate Gym Membership
Axeda offers all employees discounted memberships to the Mansfield Sportsplex. For employees who join, Axeda will pay the one-time membership enrollment fee of $99. Employees are responsible for paying the monthly discounted membership fees: $23.20 for a single membership and $55.20 for a family membership. As a Blue Cross Blue Shield member, you may also be eligible for an annual health club reimbursement check.
