Company recognized for Getinge Online M2M solution, powered by Axeda
Foxboro, MA (June 20, 2012) – Axeda Corporation announced today that its customer, Getinge Infection Control received a Gold Connected World magazine Value Chain Award, with Axeda named as its technology enabler. The annual awards recognize the most successful corporate adopters of machine-to-machine (M2M) technology and connected devices, as well as the solution providers that help make their technology adoption a success.
The companies were honored for the Axeda powered Getinge Online remote service solution, which simplifies the work of healthcare professionals around the globe by giving instant access and in-depth knowledge on Getinge’s equipment anytime and anywhere. Instead of viewing the sterilization or disinfection process manually and in-person, medical staff and service technicians can now follow the process on computers or mobile devices, wherever they are.
“With Getinge Online we wanted to create something that would really be a game changer within the infection control business, and at the same time push the limit for what can be done with web and mobile technologies,” said Anders Buch, Strategic program manager, Getinge IT Solutions. “By leveraging Axeda’s cloud-based M2M platform, we were able to successfully deliver this solution to our customers in a much shorter period of time than if we had tried to build it ourselves.”
With instant notification when a machine has completed a process or otherwise needs attention, Getinge Online enables maximized productivity. Statistics shown graphically alongside data on the equipment’s performance also make it easier for any technical support staff to solve problems early and minimize downtime.
“The 2012 winners represent successful implementations in home health, education, emergency response, tracking, and even the prevention of distracted driving. This is a great illustration as to how M2M technology and connected devices can be relied upon to not only make our lives more convenient and efficient, but much safer and responsible,” says Peggy Smedley, editorial director, Connected World. “Congratulations to all of the individuals and companies honored.”

It is uniquely qualified to handle the complex requirements for M2M solutions, such as managing multiple types of connections and assets, processing massive amounts of unstructured data, and providing enterprise grade scalability and security. This is Axeda’s seventh consecutive Value Chain award.
“Getinge is one of Axeda’s most advanced customers in terms of how they are utilizing machine data to differentiate its products and drive efficiencies in its business processes,” said Bill Zujewski, EVP of product strategy and marketing, Axeda. “We are very pleased to be recognized with Getinge and honored again by the Connected World team.”
